PROPRIETOR: PAM WELLBORN Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine

Meet Pam Wellborn. Born and raised in a small, Alabama town nestled near the foothills of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, Pam learned her way around the kitchen at a very early age. Known to friends and family for their culinary talents, Pam’s mother and grandmothers taught her all the wonderful ‘made from scatch’ southern recipes. Her family procured beef and pork from their farms, fresh vegetables from their gardens, harvested pecans from the orchards, fresh fish from local rivers and enjoyed wild game from hunting excursions.

Entertaining friends and family is a way of life for Pam. Growing up in the kitchen and having access to fresh, organic and sustainable sources, Pam really appreciates access to the very best ingredients. The Destin Ice Market 30A is all about that passion. The Market is about bringing to you the very best fish, meats, specialty items and wines.

Pam and her husband Tim have had the experience of building partnerships that created two successful restaurants, Cuvee Destin and Cuvee 30A. These establishments anchored them to Destin and the Panhandle. Encouraged by Destin Ice owners Jim Bass and Dwane Martin, Tim and Pam didn’t hesitate to create Market 30A. The relationship with Jim and Dwane immediately brought decades of purchasing experience with The Destin Fishing Fleet to this location.

They invite you to shop with them and know that they offer the very best from the oceans as well as from sustainable farms and specialty vendors.

Meet Chef Alan Baltazar. Alan grew up in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and knew from a very early age that his passion for food and the ability to think outside the box would lead him down the culinary path throughout his life. As a child, Chef Baltazar’s love of food was encouraged by his father. Beginning at the age of eight he spent a lot of quality time in the kitchen with his dad. The self-taught chef admits that he really enjoys the fast pace of the kitchen, works very well under pressure and loves to create exciting new recipes.

Alan has had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the nation’s very best chefs. His career has taken him from Wisconsin to Colorado and back to Wisconsin before settling here on the Emerald Coast. In the year of 2000 everything changed when Chef Baltazar vacationed in Destin and two weeks later moved here permanently.

Here on the coast he has once again had the opportunity to run some of the area’s finest kitchens. In 2010 he met Tim and Pam Wellborn and became Executive Chef at their Cuvee Bistro restaurant. In 2018 it was no surprise that Pam invited him to be the Chef and Manager at Market 30A. Chef Baltazar gladly accepted this position.

As Chef and Manager of the market, Alan has transformed it into what it is today. We offer only the best seafoods, meats and wines. You will be amazed at his selctions of ready to eat entrees, sides and deli items. He prides himself on having the experience and knowledge to maintain and exceed our customers expectations. Chef Alan is constantly adding new items to our already extensive collection of fine foods.
